I frequently design and deliver a broad range of virtual or in-person professional workshops and presentations related to mental health, coping/resilience, and wellness/well-being. I also maintain a small personal/professional coaching practice for one-on-one support.

What is personal or professional coaching?
Coaching has proven to have very powerful results when a person is ready to learn more about themselves and the impact they have on the people around them. It is a combination of deepening their learning about how they negotiate and react to their environment as well as forwarding their action toward making long term behavior changes. People find that once they clearly understand where they are today and where they want to be, closing that gap will enable them to enhance interpersonal effectiveness, make a career or personal change, improve a business, and/or create a more satisfying and successful life. Coaching sessions are done virtually via Zoom, telephone, and contact in between via email.
What is my style of coaching?
I use the co-active model of coaching (Kimsey-House, Kimsey-House, Sandahl, & Whitworth, 2010) which means that the coach and client are active collaborators. In co-active coaching, our relationship is an alliance between two equals for the purpose of meeting your agenda.
The four cornerstones that form the foundation of Co-Active Coaching®:
My clients are naturally creative, resourceful and whole.
You have the answers or can find the answers. From my point of view, nothing is wrong or broken and there is nothing to “fix.” I don’t have the answers; I have questions that create the channel for self-discovery. I believe in your ability to access your self-knowledge and innate ability to make important changes in your life.
I address my client’s whole life.
The choices you make during the day, no matter how trivial they seem, contribute to creating a life that is more (or less) fulfilling. They contribute to a more effective life process or to a process that is less effective. Your professional decisions impact your personal life and your personal decisions impact your professional life.
The agenda comes from the client.
In a co-active coaching relationship, the agenda comes from you, the client, not me, the coach. The coaching relationship is entirely focused on getting the results you want, so you set the agenda. My role is to make sure the agenda doesn’t get lost, and to make sure you are always steering toward a life of fulfillment and balance and engaging in the process of your life.
The relationship is a designed alliance.
In co-active coaching, the power is granted to the coaching relationship – not to the coach. You and I work together to design an alliance that meets your needs and fits your working styles. This process of designing the alliance is a model of our mutual responsibility for the success of the coaching process.
How do you know if coaching is the right thing for you?
Fill out the contact form below to set up a free 15-20 minute phone consultation. Serious inquiries only–no solicitations. I help clients figure out whether coaching or counseling/therapy is a better fit for their goals. If my coaching caseload is full, I can also provide referrals to trusted colleagues.
I have delivered hundreds of workshops and presentations to non-profit, governmental, and for-profit agencies and companies ranging from the specific (e.g., compulsive hoarding) to more general (e.g., managing stress), and have a sliding fee scale based on several factors.
